Many people question the placement of advertisements and billboards and how these fall under the Planning Authority’s jurisdiction. The answer is quite simple: advertisements are considered development under Article 70(2) of the Development Planning Act, which requires planning permission from the Planning Authority.
This process is not always as straightforward as one might think.
